The Plant Based Podcast

Jul 12, 2020

In this episode of the Plant Based Podcast, Ellen and Michael chat to Merryn Chilcott, Garment Technologist & Product Developer at BAM clothing. BAM create clever clothing from bamboo and celebrate all things plant-based in the clothing world. The enthusiasm for bamboo at BAM is infectious- the founder of the company has even been known to pole vault with it!

Merryn explains the brilliance of bamboo and why it’s so perfect for clothing – it’s versatile, incredibly soft and a more sustainable option in today’s throwaway clothing society. It’s a great plant-based alternative to synthetic workout clothing and has similar sweat-wicking properties. Aside from clothing, bamboo has plenty of advantages as a crop too – just perhaps not in your garden (as Ellen discovered the hard way!)
